V4DF – Volunteer Role Descriptions


This document outlines the full job descriptions for volunteer roles within Volunteers for Democracy’s Future (V4DF) and its first initiative, Project 67.
 

All roles begin as volunteer positions, typically requiring as little as two hours per week (or more), with the potential to transition into paid positions as the organization’s donor base grows.
 

Project Manager

Purpose: Coordinate organizational activities and ensure alignment across teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee project timelines and deliverables.

• Facilitate team meetings and track action items.

• Coordinate communication across functional teams.

• Monitor progress toward strategic goals.

• Support leadership with operational planning.

Qualifications:

• Experience in project or operations management.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, or similar) is a plus.

 

 

Community Curator

Purpose: Build and nurture an engaged online community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and moderate online communities (e.g., Skool and social platforms).

• Welcome and onboard new members.

• Encourage engagement through discussions and activities.

• Gather feedback from community members.

• Collaborate with the content and outreach teams.

Qualifications:

• Experience in community management or social media.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to foster inclusive and engaging environments.

 

 

Content Creator

Purpose: Develop compelling content to communicate V4DF’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create short-form videos and digital content for social media.

• Collaborate on messaging and storytelling.

• Edit and repurpose multimedia content.

• Maintain a consistent content calendar.

• Ensure brand consistency across platforms.

Qualifications:

• Experience with video production or digital media.

• Proficiency with editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, CapCut).

• Creative storytelling abilities.

 

 

Growth & Distribution Coordinator

Purpose: Expand the reach and visibility of V4DF initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and distribute content across social media platforms.

• Engage with audiences through comments and messages.

• Identify partnership and influencer opportunities.

• Track analytics and optimize engagement strategies.

• Support grassroots outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

• Experience in digital marketing or communications.

• Familiarity with social media analytics.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

 

Podcast & Media Outreach Coordinator

Purpose: Increase visibility through media and podcast engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify relevant podcasts and media outlets.

• Develop and send outreach pitches.

• Coordinate interviews and speaking engagements.

• Maintain a media contact database.

• Track media coverage and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Experience in public relations, communications, or journalism.

• Strong writing and networking skills.

• Ability to manage relationships with media professionals.

 

 

Database Manager (Voter & Donor Research)

Purpose: Manage and analyze voter and donor data to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research publicly available voter and demographic data.

• Maintain and organize donor and volunteer databases.

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Support segmentation and analytics for outreach.

• Collaborate with fundraising and outreach teams.

Qualifications:

• Experience with CRM systems or database management.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Understanding of data privacy and compliance principles.

 

 

AI & Content Operations Specialist

Purpose: Leverage AI tools to scale content creation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop AI-assisted content workflows.

• Support research and messaging development.

• Assist with automation of repetitive tasks.

• Train team members on AI tools.

• Ensure ethical and effective use of AI technologies.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms.

• Strong analytical and creative skills.

• Interest in emerging technologies.

Webmaster

Purpose: Maintain and optimize V4DF’s website and digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage website updates and content (e.g., Wix or similar platforms).

• Create and optimize landing pages.

• Ensure mobile responsiveness and accessibility.

• Integrate forms, analytics, and CRM systems.

• Monitor website performance and security.

Qualifications:

• Experience with website builders such as Wix, WordPress, or Webflow.

• Understanding of SEO and analytics tools.

• Basic knowledge of UX/UI principles.

 

 

Community Ambassador

Purpose: Expand awareness and engagement within local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Share information about V4DF with personal and professional networks.

• Introduce the initiative to civic and faith organizations.

• Encourage participation in events and volunteer opportunities.

• Serve as a trusted voice in the community.

Qualifications:

• Strong community connections.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Passion for civic engagement.

 

 

Advisor or Mentor

Purpose: Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer strategic insights based on professional experience.

• Mentor younger volunteers and emerging leaders.

• Participate in advisory discussions.

• Support organizational planning and decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Significant professional or civic leadership experience.

• Strong advisory and mentoring capabilities.

• Commitment to the mission of V4DF.

 

 

Fundraising Champion

Purpose: Support the growth of V4DF’s donor base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Introduce potential donors from personal networks.

• Host informational gatherings or small events.

• Assist with donor stewardship and relationship building.

• Support fundraising campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Strong personal and professional networks.

• Comfort with relationship-building and outreach.

• Interest in supporting nonprofit fundraising efforts.

 

 

Outreach and Welcome Volunteer

Purpose: Create a welcoming experience for new volunteers and supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and onboard new volunteers.

• Conduct follow-up calls or messages.

• Assist with donor appreciation.

• Help maintain a supportive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Ability to build positive relationships.

 

 

Storytelling Contributor

Purpose: Share personal experiences and narratives to inspire engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write or record stories connecting past civic movements to current efforts.

• Contribute to newsletters, blogs, and social media.

• Support communications and messaging initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Strong writing or storytelling abilities.

• Passion for sharing meaningful experiences.

• Interest in communications and advocacy.

 

 

Event Support Volunteer

Purpose: Assist with organizing and executing virtual or in-person events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support logistical planning and coordination.

• Assist with event setup and facilitation.

• Help manage participant communications.

• Ensure a positive attendee experience.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and coordination skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively.

• Experience with event planning is a plus.

 

 

 

Skool Platform Manager (Community Platform Developer)

Purpose:  Own and manage the Skool platform—configuring, optimizing, and maintaining it to support community growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and configure the Skool platform structure (courses, groups, navigation, and user flows).

  • Manage user onboarding, permissions, and overall platform organization.

  • Implement features and workflows to drive engagement (posts, events, discussions, content).

  • Monitor performance and continuously optimize the user experience.

  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with the team to improve functionality and integrations.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing or building communities on platforms like Skool, Circle, Mighty Networks, or similar.

  • Comfortable configuring platform structure, user flows, and engagement features.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and user experience.

  • Basic technical proficiency (ability to troubleshoot issues, manage settings, and handle integrations).

  • Self-starter who can take ownership and continuously improve the platform.

 

 

 

Media Representative

Purpose: Serve as a public voice for VFDF in podcasts, interviews, and media appearances, communicating our approach clearly and consistently to external audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in podcasts, interviews, and media discussions as a representative of VFDF 
• Communicate VFDF’s approach in clear, simple, and consistent language 
• Stay aligned with core messaging and avoid personal or off-message commentary 
• Adapt delivery to different audiences while maintaining message discipline 
• Reinforce key themes around engagement, attention, and accountability 
• Provide feedback on how messaging is received across different audiences

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills and comfort speaking publicly 
• Ability to explain ideas clearly and simply without relying on jargon 
• Composed under questioning and able to stay on message 
• Willingness to prepare and follow messaging guidance 
• Reliable and responsive when opportunities arise 
• Prior media or speaking experience is helpful but not required
